Ways To Help

Events:

Education: As an emerging non-profit, the Foundation for Mitochondrial Medicine hosts an annual symposium for families, doctors and caregivers of those affected by mitochondrial disease, usually held in Atlanta every spring. We invite those affected by or interested in mitochondrial disease from across the nation to learn more about research progress and treatment advancements. Please join our mailing list for news on future symposiums: info@foundmm.org.

Celebration: Hope Flies is our signature fundraising program dedicated to raising significant funds and awareness for the most promising mitochondrial disease research and treatments.

Hope Flies fundraising events have been held in various locations around the country and come in different sizes and shapes. We encourage you to participate in - and develop - Hope Flies events in your community. For more information email us at hopeflies@foundmm.org.

Volunteer:

Since the foundation began, we've had one goal: support the development of the most promising mitochondrial disease research and treatments.

There are many ways you can help us reach this goal.

  • One family in Ohio hosted a local trunk show at their home, donating a portion of the days sales to the Foundation for Mitochondrial Medicine.
  • In Tampa, Florida, a family created "Cocktails for a Cause " and hosted a wonderful evening at a local restaurant. A portion of the evening's sales were donated, to support mitochondrial research.
  • Last spring, a Connecticut family and their friends held a "fun run" to raise money for mitochondrial disease research.
No matter which way you decide to give, you'll be playing a tremendous part in the fight against mitochondrial disease.

If you would like to host an event in your community, or volunteer to help the Foundation for Mitochondrial Medicine in other ways, can provide suggestions and information to help you raise money for our cause.
